Default Long tube headers install

So.. As I have been checking into a having SW long tubes installed most of the shops are stating that they have to loosen the engine mounts to complete the install. I feel like that is kinda bs and not necessary but rather a short cut to make it just easier. Should I be concerned and/or allow this. Time for install 7hrs.. @$125 and hour. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... TELL ME THERE'S ANOTHER OPTION!

Unbolting the motor mounts is a must, I couldn't imagine trying it without. The long tubes are pretty snug in there. No worries as long as they don't forget to tighten them back down when they are done.

7 hrs one experienced person with the right tools/equipment can do it, with a good hand I would say 5 hrs two people could do it pretty easy.

Yes the motor mounts need to come out one side at a time.

We are a pretty good ways away from you but to give you an option...we can get you the Stainless Works headers if you haven't already got them at good price...or if you already do and just need install we charge $450 to do it which if you set an appointment we can do same day and get you on your way! Just north of Orlando...

Took me about 6hr on a lift the 1st time. Taking out mounts and putting in the headers isn't the time consuming part. You can strip the old exhaust and install new headers in like 2hrs, it takes the other 5 to tighten the bolts behind the primaries.

You shouldnt be paying $125 an hour labor rate to install headers. Go to another shop or do it yourself. Yes you need to remove motor mounts which is simple. Starter, battery, cai and steering rack gotta move too. Just get a buddy to help and do it over a weekend. Its not difficult just nuts and bolts but man are the tight to get too. A 13mm flex head ratcheting box wrench is a fricken must have as well as gloves. Or you will bleed out in your driveway. LOL

I'll soon do LT also and I think it would be best to do the Stage1 Clutch and aluminum Fly Wheel at the same time as the LT's. Don't LT's make it impossible to do a clutch without removing them again?

What's wrong with $125 and hour? I don't know where this shop is but I'm on Long Island Property tax for building I'm in is $100,000 a year, so if you live in Utah where same building would be $15,000 then you can charge less.

I would have laughed in their face for saying 875 bucks to install headers.
