4 post lift for storage/work?
I'm looking into a 4 post lift for my garage. i have an 11 foot ceiling and i think it'll fit. What im mostly concerned with is A) Safety B) Reliability C) space to work on and under it as well.
I have a 2000GT that i'd like to store on top of it while i restore my 67 coupe under it. Is that possible or will there not be enough room under it while the GT is raised? I just got the GT and it's mint. 21K on the clock, spring edition, bolt-ons etc. I dont wanna let it sit outside during the winter and a lift seems more cost effective than putting it into public storage. So my idea was put it up on a lift while i restore the coupe under it. My biggest fear is the lift collapsing and my coupe being destroyed.
Possible?
Opinions, suggestions, comments, ideas...all are welcome!
Thanks

As far as safety I don't see an issue as usually these lifts have a mechanical device that will lock in place. If it was just hydraulics, then id say no way, never trust your life to a rubber seal! As to room underneath, it really depends on what type you go with. Look at them, get plan drawings. Measure! that's about the best advice I have.
