Default Should I be mad at this trolley jack?

I bought a cheap trolley jack from Sears at the start of the year probably got 8 lifts out of it. I went to use it today to lift up my car high enough to get a stand under it and nope. I pumped it up, it slowly slipped down. Pumped it back up, nearly high enough to slip the stand in place, slipped back down.

Should I even bother taking this to Sears and try to get it replaced when I feel like the same model will mess up on me again?

Obviously, I should pay more for a decent floor jack, but what would you recommend for around $100. I'm not using it all the time, perhaps once every so often for routine maintenance.

Cheers

Stupid question, but you have the release valve tight on it, right?

I have been using a Torin Black Jack for about fifteen years now, I bought it for $15? at Walmart. It has been steadfast and has been used a couple hundred times with no issues.

Yeah, always, I'm paranoid about the car falling on me, so try to get the valve tight.

I'd go to Harbor Freight and get one.
It sure won't be $150.
I got one of those types close to 25 years ago and it still works great.
Get a steel one, not the aluminum one.......
