Default need some input..

ordered amr wheels little while back and when i put them on, the steering wheel is shaking at highway speeds ( yes i took the litle black thing off of the studs). American muscle has sent me warranty wheels but they are doing the same thing. They have been road forced balanced and seem to check out. suspension shop says everyhing is ok and that the wheels are balanced, what am i missing?

09 gt 52,000 miles

thanks

Is the shaking noticeable only in the steering wheel and not throughout the car? Have you tried another shop? If the retainer clips have been removed and everything checks out on a RoadForce balancer, then I'd have the front suspension looked at by a qualified shop that specializes in front end work.

take em to another store
will be balancing problems..these cars are very sensitive to it.
i had to have mine rebalanced.
oh one other thing i hope your using spiggot rings with ya new wheels..the wont ever sit mm perfect without em.
both of my stangs needed them..without them it was pretty much undrivable

^ I would agree with this. Take the wheels over to another location and have them rebalanced. The odds are you having issues with 2 sets of brand new wheels, is near impossible.

Can you give us a little more information on the vibration and mods?

Is the shaking more of less noticeable when you are on or off the gas? It does seem odd that you would have the same issue with two sets of wheels. Are they staggered or could you rotate them? Maybe you could isolate the problem then.
This is an odd one though. Maybe rings, possibly a U joint or something.

the reason i think it is the rims, is because with these new rims the shaking IMPROVED. the suspension is stock.

Every time Ive ever had that problem its was one of 2 things. The lug nuts weren't tightened enough or the rim was bent because I curb checked it. Hopefully its not the latter.

I have AMR wheels but bought tires from a different site. Had them mounted and balanced at Firestone, zero issues.

What's the offset on the wheels? What size? If you change offset and increase wheel size should also do a Toe adjustment, you should set Toe In 0.01 degree for every step up in width. Ex. if you go from 235 to a 265 front you should set Toe In 0.03 degrees from factory center.
