Thumbs up Sally got new brakes!

My 2006 GT 'vert with 118,500 miles needed new brakes. I used Ford OE pads in the past but decided to try Akebone Pro Act ceramic pads this time. Installed 4 new Centric high carbon series rotors and new Akebono pads. All I can say is wow, the brakes aren't even broken in yet and they feel better than they ever have since I bought the car new. I have used Centric rotors in the past and had great luck with them. Very happy with the results.

I think it's hard to pick something worse than the oem brakes unless you get some chinese rotors and pads. Actually the rotors aren't bad, just undersized, it's the pads that suck big time. I'm running EBC redstuff now and I'm going to try the Yellowstuff after.

PS: Don't forget to put new brake fluid in, the old one's probably done for.

I was going to get the Akebono Pro Acts but just went with the Wearever Gold's at Advance since I would have had to order the Akebonos, are they worth the extra few bucks even with oem type rotors?

First impression, I would say definitely.

Right, I flushed the system too. Love those Speed Bleeders.

I'm either going to get the pad and rotor kit from AM next time for $350 which has all 4 drilled rotors and pads, or just get the akebono's and oem rotors. How much did you pay for the set up if you don't mind me asking? And speed bleeders are a must.

for the 4 high carbon steel alloy rotors and both sets of pads, $313.34 plus shipping. This was from Rock Auto, which was the best price I could find.
