Default automatic reverse hard jerk

I have started to get a hard jerk when I put in reverse. V6 automatic. Approx 94K miles.
Thinking the tranny is starting to go out.

Do you have a 2 piece drive shaft? I get a hard jerk when I go into reverse on my '11 and that is due to the crappy OEM 2 piece drive shaft.

fluid and filter change ASAP. Your fluid is already probably low, resulting in the harsh reverse engagement.

There is a NTSB bulletin out on that problem. Check with your dealer

I get that to but only in warm weather. Is the tranny fluid change covered by the powertrain warranty? If there is a NTSB will that mean it won't cost me or thuxel anything?

Just wondering in past years if you are coming to a complete stop when shifting from reverse to drive or doing it as the car is still rolling. And vise versa. My wife is aware of that when she uses her Terrain or others over the years. Just my thought using auto xmissions.

Usually it's a low/worn fluid issue. If you haven't had your fluid changed by now, you might have damaged the trans. But fluid and filter should help. And it's not a warranty item as it is considered maintenance. Dont let them flush it as part of the change!
