Default Do clay bars work? Was going to try mothers

I was flipping through motortrend and there was an add for a Mothers claybar kit. I was just wondering if these kits actually work or if there is anything I should know about them?

it definitely works, just don't over-do it. take your time and make sure you keep spraying the detail spray as you run it along the car. wipe clean when you're done.

Do you guys recommend any brand over another? Or a good place to buy them at? I was at autozone a few days back looking around and it seemed to me that turtle wax ice had the best kit @ ~$18 but that was prolly bc they had the best on box advertising lol.

the turtle wax liquid clay bar isn't a clay bar..

only other over the counter clay bars i see is from meguiars and mothers, both are basically the same.

nah, pick the one on sale.

I have 2 Mothers kits. I just combined the clay as they get smaller. Break them in 2 in case you drop it. If you drop it, toss it. Ya know : dirt

I've never noticed a difference in the brands, I do believe (but don't hold me to it) that the Claybars you can buy online are usually bigger.

I've stopped using 'clay lube'. I mix a spray bottle with a little car wash, or use running water. I've yet to notice any marring and it saves that precious quick detailer.
