Hey guys, this is my first post here so not sure if Im doing the right thing! I'm looking at putting some news wheels on my Mustang. 2005 v6. I'm trying to decide what size to go with. Ive been looking at the AMR wheels on American muscle and I'm wondering if the 20's would look too big or if I should go with the 18's or 19's.

You'll get a ton of answers from those that like the look with 20's to those that don't. I'm in the latter group to the point that 90% of Stangs with 20's look like clown cars to me. 20's will also affect handling and ride quality due to lack of sufficient sidewall. 19's reduce the available tire choices being a bit of an odd size.

I have 18's on my '07 GT and my wife has 17's on her '06 V6. Her 17's have more sidewall sex appeal (IMO) than my 18's.

Whatever you choose, make sure you pick a tire to go with those wheels that has as close to the stock tires O.D.. If not, you'll need a handheld tuner to adjust your speedometer and you'll also affect your overall gear ratio.

I have 20" AMR's on mine. I had the stock 19" before with the Pirelli Pzeros. I have 255/35/20 Continental Extreme Contact DWS's all around. It rides better now than it did on the stock wheels/tires.

20's are heavy and clownish. If Pimp Yo Ride is appealing to you then go for it. 18's look the best but 19's are acceptable.

This is definitely going to be an opinionated question. It really depends on the look you're going for. I'm a big fan of 19's. They're not to heavy, but they still give you a very aggressive look and will fill up the wheel gap. However, there's absolutely nothing wrong with 18's or 20's. Since you're coming from a factory 16" I don't think you can wrong!

The AMR's look great and are a very popular wheel. What finish do you plan on going with?
