My engine started making a grinding/rattling noise on my way home. A few miles later the check engine light came on. I got it home and checked the engine with my hand tuner and the code was for the camshaft position. Is this something expensive to fix? Any help will be appreciated

possible problem with the timing chain, timing chain tensioner, or cam phaser(s.) Or the cam position sensor went bad but I wouldn't expect that to make any bad noises.

yeah i would think it has something to do with the chain. can you tear it down?

Sounds like the timing chain guide broke or tensioner went flat.
