Default Tune/Midpipe Results

So since my last and very depressing visit to the track (13.6 at 106, 2.1 60') I did two mods. An off road mid pipe and a dyno tune. Made two passes today. Was very pleased with the gains. First pass was a 13.0 at 111 mph on an awful 2.2 60'. The second and final pass was a 12.91 at 111 mph on a 2.1 60! No vids, but heres a slip.

Damn. So is most of that gain because of the tune?

Nice job Stoney! I'm going next Saturday to avenge my horrible 14.1 last November. I'll post some slips and vids next weekend. Hurry up and get some tires and then maybe I'll pony up for a set of dr's

Yes and no. The car already had a KN intake pre tune. I'd say 90% of the gain was tune only, but being that the intake was worthless without the tune...I'm thinking just the tune is responsible for 5 tenths and the mid-pipe/intake is reponsible for the other two tenths. The trap speed kind of shocked me though.

Thanks buddy. Dont sweat that 14.1, we all have off days at the track. If you ever buy DRs, you'll never go back. I bet your car would run damn close to 13 flat with a good tire.

Congrats on the big pick up in MPH. I bet she could get real close to 12.6 with a perfect launch on the street tires. I got the Camaro down to 12.3s with a crappy set of used 555Rs so the goat will be getting down the track once the DRs go on.

Much Improved Trey! Bet it was nice getting that first slip and seeing that mph. Like I said before a set of tires and you're at 12.5's all day if not 12.2/3

I'm thinking the same thing, 12.6 glory pass. The launch is tricky as hell with this car. Its a balance of getting the rear to squat, keeping it there, and rolling into the power without the rear leveling back out. I'm getting tires asap.

Dang man, I didn't know you got that SS down to a 12.3. You gotta keep us up to date on these things sir! Whats it trap now?

Thanks man, I was pretty happy when I got that first slip and saw 111 mph. Love that feeling when you get a good slip, nothing like it. Shopping hard for tires. Should be on before the end of the month hopefully.

Question now is, go ahead and hook this dry kit up, wait a little while a cam it, or wait a little while longer than that and put a blower on it.
