Hi, have any of you noticed your tires feathering on inside threads of all 4 tires? I have the 19 inch stock rims with Yokohama avid envigor tires. My alignment is bang on so not sure if the tire is the problem or if car is built this way.

Feathering could be due to worn suspension components. Post a few pics. I find it odd that all 4 tires are wearing on the inside. I currently have almost 30k miles on my current tires, they've never been rotated and the wear is flat across the width of the tread.

I rotated mine regularly till the last 10000 kilometers or so, when I got new ones only the fronts were wore on the inside, not the backs.

No problems with mine. I rotate about every 5,000 miles.

Define "bang on" in terms of the actual camber, caster, and toe measurements. Rear measurements too, if you have them.

What size tires and what inflation pressures are you running in them?

Describe your driving - where it mostly is (highway, country, city, etc.), how much hard cornering you do (and some idea how hard), how much hard braking (ditto), etc.

H rated tires on a Mustang? Ewww... Anyways, aside from personal preference, What feels good is very different from what is correct (Bang On). As Norm pointed out, actual specs and driving habits are needed to get to the root reason you are seeing feathering.

Feathering is usually a Toe issue (in your case negative toe). The fact all four tires are seeing outside feathering could also involve thrust angle. I don't believe any mustang with SRA has adjustable rear toe.

Also, what PSI are you running your tires at?

It takes adjustable rear LCAs to correct a thrust angle issue.

A rear toe problem (with total toe being either in or out) is more difficult to correct.

The rear axle can easily have a little negative camber, and hard acceleration and hard braking will then beat up in the inboard shoulders a little more than if the wheels were truly at or closer to zero camber.

The last two items are difficult enough to correct that I doubt many people bother. Fortunately, bad cases are relatively rare.
