Default Off Road X or H

Hey Guys,
A thread in another section got me thinking. I currently run BBK cat deletes and X pipe with Pypes Pype bomb A/B's. My question is, will you lose/gain/or neither as far as horsepower/sound go if I switch back to the stock H-pipe.

What are the benefits of it vs the X pipe?

Thanks, matt

H-pipe has a little deeper tone, that is the consensus at least. X-pipes supposedly make a little bit more power, but I don't think you would notice.

Hey,

Great question, and you are probably going to get quite a variety of answers.

As mentioned the biggest difference is in the sound. The H pipe generally delivers a deeper tone, while the X has a raspier race sound. Technically the X pipe will get you more power, however the difference is a couple horses at best.

The biggest advantage power wise in the mid-pipe is removing the restrictive factory cats. As long as these are removed or replaced with high flow cats, most mid-pipes will deliver power gains within a few horses of each other. I would make your decision based off sound, as that will be the most noticeable difference between any mid-pipe.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to get back in touch. Best of luck!

-Dan

Yeah this is pretty much it, you wont notice any power difference between the two. The only thing that I've noticed is that H-pipes tend to have a bit more burble to it, x-pipes tend to be a little bit more raspy at the top end, but that's all I have to add to it
