Default Hey guys need help finding a part!

I was wondering if anyone could know where I can find a level sending unit for a '79. Seems everything for this year is hard to find, My uncle checked through his parts guy and cant get one. Ive searched high and low online and cant seem to find one, I need to replace my gas tank and this is the only part I cant seem to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If for some reason that doesn't work, call these guys:

http://aceradiatorinc.com/index.htm

They've been able to get me weird cooling and fuel system parts plenty of times before that no one else had.

It looks like (based on 3 minutes of research) 79 and 80 are different than everything else for some reason. I have no clue what that reason may be.

Honestly, I'd call Ace. Their prices aren't bad at all and they'll get you set up if they can. They may even be able to cross reference you into a new gas tank w/sender for cheap so you never run into this problem again. Since your vehicle says "Pacecar" I'm guessing you're not going to send it to the crusher any time soon.

I shot them a email and ill call tomorrow, Almost everything on the 79 is diffrent. We had to retrofit a heater box just to get it to work because the 79 ones are nonexistent just like this level sending unit for some crazy reason.

I'm going to guess its loaded with funky 1st year only stuff like most new model cars. I have 1 car that is an orphan and some parts are unobtainable (the next 3 vehicles I bought were the most common on the planet since I got tired of hunting down weird parts). I sympathize with you.

Good luck!
