I just got around to installing Ford strut tower brace (AR3Z-16A200-A) on my 2006 GT Mustang. Seems to really press on the hood. Has anyone installed this brace?

Hey-That's a first! Can you post up a few pictures of what you're working with so we can get a better idea of how to help you out here?
I re-installed the brace and added some chalk to the edges of it to mark the hood liner. I also included before and after of the hood alignment to the fenders. It's about a 1/4 inch. First photo is before, second is after and the third is the chalk lines on the hood insulation.

Take the insulator lining off the underside of the hood.
and that seems to have solved the problem. I found a new hood liner that looks like it accommidates the strut brace. Ford 7R3Z-16738-H - INSULATOR
Anyone have any luck with this part?

I just don't run the liner. Is it actually necessary? I don't have the 302 brace, I have the stack racing one but I had the same problem.

Why don't you just trim away the few places on the hood liner you already have, just enough to eliminate the very minor interferences, and re-install it?
but my car is all original with only 22k miles, with the exception of the newly installed strut bar. I think I'll run without for a while. Thanks for the advice.
