Changing out the Mufflers on my '03 GT...Help, Advice???

oh,, youre interested in just buying the mufflers... come to think of it,, i guess the thread title does kind of hint at that....

I personally have the entire catback system.

dont hold me to this, but ive heard that the sound will be a little less quality with just the mufflers welded inbecause of the restriction in the factory exhaust, (but dont quote me for sure on that)

IF you do decide to go with strictly the muffler, you can purchase SLP's individually, and it will let you know which one is which

HOWEVER, the mufflers used on the borla stingers are more tricky. I do believe that Borla itself may be the only place to get them, but once again, im not totaly sure.

and even still, im not 100% on the name of the muffer.. ive heard xr-1 mentioned before, but you'd be better off calling them and finding out.

if youve got any more Q's, im srue someone else will be around again to help you out with anything i wasnt really sure of

You can purchase the Borla stingers here, http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8borla.htm , they were VERY easy to put in as long as you have the right tools and can get enough clearance from the gound.

You can find the Borla Stinger catback all over the place. (for cheaper too)
I don't think the same is true for the mufflers individually.

Thats the cheapest ive ever found it, most places its around 540. There you get 10% off pluss free shipping and you get it in 2 days.

I have Magnapacks with Bassani X pipe. And i love them. They are LOUD as hell and very clean sounding. Not poppy like the flowmaster. I am very happy with them. I have turned sooo many heads because of the way that my car sounds

So most of you guys recommend buying the Cat-Back kits instead of just the mufflers? Well now that i think about it , it makes sense because you can then keep your stock exhaust the way it is, keep it for when you sell the car...

Now, Most of these kits say no welding and will bold right on, I Thought you wanted to weld the system together to ensure an air tight fit?

Also will the Stock Mustang exhasut on my 03 GT just un bolt right there after the cats, and you just maneuver them out? or does the stock exhaust un bolt in another place too?

Yes, it is 100% bolt on, no welding needed.

No, you will need to cut your stock exhaust to get it off unless you can get your car 8 feet off the ground.
