Default unhappy right now

Nick,

I normally don't complain much but this one got on my nerves. I bought the 14" mishimoto fan a couple months back from you guys and it says on your website it pushes 2000 cfm.

I install it, and it works fine during the colder months. Now that it has warmed up to 60-70 degree days in Eagle River, WI the fan has been falling on its face and cannot cool my motor at all. The motor is stock and there are no performance modifications but exhaust. I have tried installing the fan by itself and it doesnt work, I tried installing it with a second 14" fan(but the radiator is too small for the 2 so it doesnt work either), in a last ditch effort I installed the motor and blades onto the stock shroud hoping the shroud would help the air flow, but that doesnt work either.

I come back to your website and then go to mishimotos and the 14" fan says it pushes 954 cfm, and the 16" fan pushes 1934 cfm on theirs. Now there is a discrepency here, you guys say that your 14" mishimoto pushes twice as much as the one they sell. So here I am hoping for 2000 cfm and then only getting 954 cfm. I'm hoping we can resolve this somehow. Thanks

-Will Lukas

Nick,

I called this morning and got it all figured out, they are going to do a return on the fan and then i will just have to order a new one through mishimoto. I'm not sure if you guys will change the product on your page to a 16" or maybe dual 12" fans, but I don't believe the 14" is sufficient enough. And im hoping the information is at least changed on the 14" fan to represent the cfm found on the Mishimoto page. thanks.

-Will

Sorry about that, but we actually were one of the first ones to carry that fan from Mishimoto, and we got the specs directly from them because they didn't even have them on their website at the time. The fans we have been selling in the past were definitely higher rated then what you are saying this fan puts out. If they changed fan specs on us without telling us, we would have no way of knowing the CFM rating was incorrect.

Obviously this is in no way your fault either, which is why we would be taking the fan back. I informed the web guys to check into the correct fan specs and get them updated.

yea i hear ya, the fan was good, by no means was it bad, but it just didnt flow enough air to cool the car at all. I installed it on my 98 gt also, completely stock, and it still did not cool it at all either when in town.

But like always, the customer service was AWESOME when i called. no bs-ing around and they got straight to the point and trying to fix the problem!

Its what we do! Its like the old adage that people should not be judged by the problems they face, but rather how they face them.

Hey Nick,

Havnt been on here in a while, but just a follow up on whats going on with Mishimoto. I talked with a Rod Johnson through emails, he wouldnt take any of my calls, only answer emails, from Mishimoto. Before I had talked with him tho a lady told me a 14" fan would sufficiently cool my stock 96 GT. After emailing back and forth with Mr. Johnson he assured me that a 14" fan is not adequate and that they do not even make a fan shroud for the 14" fan to mount to my application. He said the more appropriate way to go would be to get two 12" fans and their shroud for it to work effectively.

Mr. Johnson also had me troubleshoot the fan to make sure it was mounted correctly and was also wired correctly so it was working at its full potential, and there were no check engine lights or codes on my car to say it was running poorly and causing the motor to create excessive heat. So i had to revert back to buying a stock fan and shroud for around $140 instead of paying the rediculous price of $280 for their fans and shroud.

I'm just ranting, hope no one has to go thru this trouble.

Oi....well only going through emails and not taking calls seems like it is getting pretty typical these days...either that or they make you go through a convoluted computerized voice system LOL.

We get a lot of people that are surprised when they call us that they actually get to speak to a real person on the other end LOL. As cutting edge as AM is, I guess we are old fashion like that...we just like to keep our shopping experience as personal as possible!

BTW, We now sell the dual 12" with shroud's now for $199 Shipped.
