Default Question for Nick

I asked twice if the mach 1 grille delete kit would fit my cobra bumper.

On the phone the guy at AM said, it should, but he wasn't sure.

By email Matt from AM said Yes, it would definitely fit the cobra bumper.

Well, it doesn't, and I STILL don't have a piece for my grille.

Is there any way I can keep the emblem, return the black piece around the bumper that comes with the kit, and just get the money back for the piece, and pay the price for the emblem? Or do i have to ship the whole kite back, then re-order the emblem?

Mike,

Yes this will work with the cobra bumper.

what?

what kit did you get, and what are you trying to do? the piece that attaches to the bumper the cobra bumper has built in, and you do not need this. the radiator piece and pony fit any 99-04 mustang.

What?..I have a cobra bumper from ford, and it doesn't have any piece on it...I can screw the emblem in to the support behind it, but there is no other piece.

And im talking about the black piece to cover some of the hole in the grill space.

Matt said this kit would work, and another rep said he wasn't sure, but thought it would.

a hole in the grille space.. because of you or because you removed bolts? If you removed bolts, it should fit. Even with a cobra bumper, the mach 1 kit comes with an adhesive lower lip.. you should be able to wiggle it in there. The cobra bumpers are essentially the same as GT bumpers, just with a recessed grille. It should work.

The cobra bumpers have a small lip so the top of the grill piece provided with the kit doesnt go over the top of the bumper.

I needed to order the optional 3rd piece with the kit from AM, but no rep told me that before i ordered. It makes the piece go up under the bumper, and below the clips on the top of the bumper.

I didn't realized you had to pay $30 for the 3 piece, could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere.

Uh, I have no clue what this Matt guy was thinking. The Mach1 Grille Delete does not fit the Cobra front end because the Cobra does not have a grille to delete. I forwarded this thread to one of our Customer Service Managers so they can address this issue with the rep.

I apologize for the inconvenience, just give us a call and we will be happy to take the delete kit back at no cost to you of course.

Thanks,

Nick

Yea, I know what I need now, timspony explained what I needed.

i was jut looking for something to cover up the hole in the bumper, b/c there was a huge gap in between the bumper and the piece behind it.

Thanks,
Mike
