Charcoal AMR Wheel 18x9 (05-12 All) by James Hayes (01/21/2012), on AmericanMuscle

The class I'll be racing in limits me to an 18x9" wheel - Could you check if the AMR 18x9 and TSW Nurburgring 18x9 fit over the standard Brembos?

Cheers - Dave.

customer states on their website (under the 18X9 wheel):

"They only weigh 27lbs and they fit over the factory brembo brakes with ease."

*EDIT:

Apparently this customer was incorrect. See posted weights further down the thread.

Thanks for that Tim; but I'm looking for confirmed weights of the two for comparison.

Maybe someone at AM can help a brother from down under out? Grab an 18x9 Nurburgring and AMR and chuck them on the shipping scales for a quick photo?

I've got that somewhere... I know that the Nurburgring wheels are fairly light. 27 lbs (for the AMR) is a bit on the heavy side for me. Great price, though.

Found it. Nurburgring wheels in 18X9 are 19.4lbs.

Ok, considering I can get 3 sets of AMRs for less than the cost of 2 sets of TSW Nurburgring, me thinks I'll be getting the AMRs.

The extra weight will probably make them a little more durable and repairable, but I'll have some spares (will run 1x race set tires, 1x practice set, 1x burnouts/trailer/spare set).

I would like to see these in the Machined/Black, and in the Charcoal finish on a Ingot Silver GT. I'm torn between these two finishes. I'm afraid I would get tired of the Charcoal look, but I'm not sure. I haven't seen many silver cars with the machined look though either.

The charcoal is really close to matte-black, but I could see why you'd want a true matte-black. Therefore, I'm gonna do my best to make it happen for you!

Please don't hesitate to PM me directly if you have any other products suggestions in the future. I'd be happy to hear your input!
Hey Chris...i'm definitely going to pick up a set of these come April...any chance that the gloss black versions will materialize by then?

Hey, Diddy! I spoke with our New Parts Team and we're expecting to have the Gloss Black available in 2012, but unfortunately not until the latter half of the year. Are you set on putting some on in April, or would you be willing to wait for the Gloss Black? If you were set on Gloss Black in April, I would just buy them in charcoal without tires and have them painted Gloss Black. Shouldn't cost more than $200 or so to have a body shop strip and paint them.
