Default best spark plugs for a v6

Hey guys. So my car is running a little rich and im pretty sure in my cars 90000 miles the sparks maybe have not been replaced as much as the should have been. I looked on AM and saw two spark plugs i like. I was wondering what the difference between the ngk g power and v power. Thanks guys!

Mobiusone_stang,

The difference between the two is, one has a iridium tip and the other is platinum. Honestly, I would just run the platinum tips since they're cheaper and the car already has 90k miles. They'll more than suffice!

^^^Spot on with the difference. But FWIW, you can't go wrong with motocraft or autolite (103) copper plugs. Sure you have to change them sooner, but they run smooth and they are dirt cheap

Copper plugs work well too! Although, the plantiums could potentially be the last plug you ever have to change. They should last for an extremely long time!

^^^ that's the only downside to copper. Platinums are good for 100k usually.

we used NGK TR55IX Iridium IX Spark Plugs on our 3.8L - love em!

and our car has 145k - runs like new after these plugs... I've used NGK Iridiums on all my cars in the past 5-6 years... smooth and efficient!

The V are not iridium, its the cheapest NGK sells. Copper. Most plugs have copper because its a good conductor. That's goes for platinum too and believe iridium too. The G is platinum. It will say iridium if they are, not V or G.Yes its an old thread. But I am correcting the info so people know what's correct.

Wrong section, AND you didn't specify 3.8, 4.0 or 3.7

I use Iridium.

Copper for bet performance, least endurance. They're worn at 25-30,000 miles.
Platinum is most common.
