Default bama tunes question

Hello all,

I have few question’s about bama tunes.

I purchased the diablo and installed street 87 tune. I understand that if I want to load 91 race tune I have to have 91 octane gasoline??

But what would happen if I have 91 tune and will put 87 gas? Or 87 tune and 91 octane gas??

Also I have 19 in wheels. When I send request for tune I provided that info but still my speedometer is 4-5 miles different that my gps is saying. Does it mean I have a wrong tune?

Sorry it the questions are stupid but I am just confused about all that tuning stuff.

Thank you

Putting 87 octane in a car that has a 91 octane tune will cause severe pinging and possible engine damage. Especially if you run it WOT on a hot day.

Putting 91 octane in a car with an 87 octane tune won't hurt anything other than make your wallet lighter. Run whatever octane the tune/car requires.

drukkosz,

Your can always run more (higher) octane in the gas tank, than what the tune is calibrated for. However, you should NEVER tune a higher octane tune, than what's actually in the gas tank. Otherwise, you'll see lots of detonation and possibly damage the engine over time.

Since no tire is exactly the same height, even if they're the same size. Your speedo will sometimes be off 4mph or so from a wheel swap like yours. This doesn't mean your stuck with this if it bothers you though! You just have to let the Bama Team know the GPS is reading 4-5mph higher or lower than actual, and they'll try to dial it in a little better. Once you're within 2mph, it's hard to get much better than that.

You still have the correct tune, even if you're speedo is off a few MPH. You won't see any negative effects by this while the Bama Team gets you straightened out, so don't worry!

Give me a shout if you could use any other assistance!

Shane
