trouble with pioneer cd for 1990 lx
i have tried two brand new radios and cannot get sound out of either one, the only thing i can see is that there are not enough wires on the factory harnes for the speakers, could this be a system that uses one ground for all speakers and if so what do i need to do to have my new radio work?

RE: trouble with pioneer cd for 1990 lx
the early 90's probes and mustangs both had bad factory grounds, check your ground and did you use a wire kit? if not take a 9v battery or cordless drill battery and take your suspected speaker wires and touch to the pos and neg of battery. if you get a pop you found your pos. and neg. wires to the speakers. how many total wires are behind the radio, the factory deck was digital? common ground decks went out in the mid 80's, one more thing, the car may have had the earlly premium sound package which has a small junk amp mounted under the radio to the trans. housing. if you have the premium sound package, you will need to run wire to the speakers direct from the deck to cut the amp out
