'03 Mach 1000 subwoofer question
Hey guys, I'm Ben and car stereo is my hobby. I have a friend who wants me to find him an amp to run the 2 10" subs that came out of his old '03 GT. He also wants a box built for them. I need to know what the voice coil configuration is on them so I can find a good amp to match with it (obviously DVC, but what impedance?). I've suggested he just get rid of them and buy a whole new setup, but he doesn't want to spend that kind of $$ on it... If anyone can tell me the resistance in the VC's that'd be great, thanks!!

Between the title and the bold portions of my first post, I thought you may be able to figure out what brand subs I was talking about...
and as I said, I suggested he toss them and start fresh but he doesn't want to spend that much $$... not to mention, the dual 10's from the mach 1000 system are rather hefty subs...

I own a classic mustang and don't have a lot of experience with the late models. I do know a little about car audio though.
You can get a good set of ten's from elemental designs for a very god price. I was definatly agreeing on the trash thing.
Better yet.... Get yourself some extra speaker wire and a surge protector. Plug them into the surge protector and the surge protector into the wall outlet. Turn the surge protector on and enjoy the boom.
Someone did that with the same model sub I have in my Pathfinder and it lasted 2.5 mnutes. Those stock subs shouldn't last a second.

I'm a huge Elemental Designs advocate!!!! I talk to one of the guys that works for them on a daily basis and get great discounts from them....my entire system will be all ED before long. Excellent prices, Awesome customer service, and 3 year transferable warranty on their car audio products....
they're going to be selling HT equipment before long as well, it's already listed on their website www.edesignaudio.com
back on topic, I guess I'll just use a DMM to check the impedance on those as like I said, he's not going to go for any other subs...
