Audio newbs come in!

Audio newbs come in!
In my short time on this forum it has become really obvious that there are two extremes of knowledge in this area. Due to that, lots of bad information and opinions seem to get handed out like candy and patience gets lost quickly.
So, in an effort to try to make myself at home, I'd like to start a "Newb to audio" thread. I'm not talking about equipment choices, but basic 12v electronics and audio theory. Things like understanding Ohm's law and how to properly use a multimeter (even a $6 cheapie will get ya by).
For most guys just getting started, your budget dictates your equipment (I know it did mine), so work that out on with you own research or in other threads.
To start with, go here and read everything: http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/basics.asp
Please post any questions freely, you'll get no flames from me. I am far from a pro, but I've done more than a few installs and have owned the entire range of equipment and made about every mistake you can.
If anyone else has some good links, please add them. Maybe we can get a sticky at some point?
