Soulburn. Please do not listen to the morons that refer to beating, blasting, tightness, or banging.

If you want nice overall sound, in general a single 12" woofer will get the job done.

There are a lot of setups that will sound better then a W0. What is your budget and how large are the dimensions of your box. Do you have an amp yet, if not, how much do you have budgeted.

There are a lot of great options, let me know your budget and I can give you a couple suggestions.

I don't really have a budget, I'm not really worried about the cost. Just whatever sounds the best. As far as a box goes, I'm going to have one custom built based on what kind of sub(s) I end up with. I haven't gotten an amp yet as I'm waiting to see what kind of sub(s) I get and what would work best with that.

the 10's aren't deep enough to hear outside the car
And what good is that? He's inside the car.

Single 12" There's plenty of brands out there far better than JL and MTX, that will be cheaper too. Please do not tell us you don't have a budget if thats the case, than be ready to hear me give you a list for about $3k. Just for your amp and subwoofer(s)

LOL Obviously I don't want to spend 3K on just a sub/amp. I'd prefer not to spend over about $3-400.

With no budget, the amp alone would be 3 grand!!!

Elemental designs 13OV2 woofer and Nine.2 X = $400 (use package builder at edesignaudio.com )

Option 2
Amp - http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/4353$140
Sub - http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4995$140 (might have to watch you gains.)

Option 3
Amp - same as above $140
Sub - https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...iew.shopscriptBL12 for $260 (Dual 2)

Option 4
Amp - same as above $140
Sub - https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraud...iew.shopscriptSSD12 $190 (Dual 2)

Wow, those look like some pretty hard hitting subs.

From what I am reading you are interested in only a small amount of bass for the buck. I have a 15" FI BL Fully Loaded that I am getting rid of at themoment. I only had the sub installed for a little over a monthl, and it has never been abused. Does have excellent sound quality though, but can also get with it if needed. PM me if your interested. Otherwise, splurge and buy a Q from ficaraudio.com. You will not regret it.

Look into Audiobahn 12's...they have a great tone and one of those which a nice amp will make for some great bass. I would also recommend replacing the interior speakers and running them through an amp too. That makes a HUGE difference, and makes it all sound great together.

I'm going to be replacing the entire system. I already have the speakers for the door and rear panel. Just trying to get the sub/amp so I can get it all installed at the same time.
