Default Satellite Radio

I have an 06 GT with the shaker 500 system and I wanted to know if anyone has run XM radio through there factory head unit. I don't have satellite in my car presently but I want to have XM without having to change the head unit. I would have to add some kind of adapter to the back of the head unit with an XM modulator. Or even if I pickup a factory head unit with the satellite hook up on it, just change it over to XM from Sirius. I know I could probably call Crutchfield and get an answer from them, but before I do that I wanted to know if anyone here had done this already. Anyone have any tips? Thanks.
