RE: ANSWER to (AUX) button on Shaker 500
Does the frd04-aux remove the ability to use the 6 disc changer for the shaker 500 system. I have an 05 mustang with the shaker 500 and want the ability to hook up my xm through the aux input without losing the 6 disc changer .
Thank you for any help

get an FM transmitter for 20 bucks form Best Buy. then set your radio to a station with no reception and set the transmitter at the same station and plug the transmitter into your headphone outlet of the ipod. enjoy the mp3 music in your car.

I am thinking about doing this to my 05. Could you take a pic and show me how you have it installed. I was hoping to use this with my new cell phone that plays mp3s. Maybe I can even turn the speakers in to a hands free cell?

RE: ANSWER to (AUX) button on Shaker 500
Found two harnesses which look like they would work:
PIE FRD04 for $75
http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-192-8...frd04-aux.aspx
Ford AUX2CAR for $87
http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...productid=8421
Anyone seen better prices?
Anyone have install instructions, time it took, etc? One of the local shops I talked to about it wants $199 for part+labour which sounds ridiculously high for what I would guess is 15-20 minutes of work.

RE: ANSWER to (AUX) button on Shaker 500
Hey guys, I've owned my Mustang GT (05, used) for less than 24 hrs.
Here's what I've found for syncing your ipod into the Shaker 500
First, an idiots guide to removing the panels and getting to the back of the Shaker:
http://www.jtephoto.com/mustang/idiots_guide/Idiots.htm
Second, apparently an ipod connection system that allows you to control your ipod through the Shaker head unit:
http://www.peripheralelectronics.com...ons&strSearch=
From reading (briefly) through the instruction manual of the Peripheral product, it seems you must have MP3 printed (and an aux button) on your system, and as long as it's a Ford you're ok. You cannot have satellite radio installed, however.
Hope this helps, this seems like my kind of solution!

Hi, Noob here.
There is a jack in the center console for iPods and other mp3 players. Press the aux button and the radio will play whatever is plugged into that jac. You must press the aux button until " Line In" shows up. (For it is also used for Sat Radio too.) You cannot control the iPod or mp3 players however. Refer to page 30 in your Owner's Guide for a more detailed instructions. Hope this helps.
