cheap 900rms amp
Like I've mentioned before I have 2 12" kicker comp CVRs. dual voice coil 4ohms a piece. my crappy american legacy amp is on its last leg. from what i understand each speaker needs about 400rms minimum each to run properly. So, i'm having a bitch of a time finding an amp thats decently priced that can handle that kind of power. can someone help me out in my search? thanks!

you really only need an amp that pushes 400 watts rms to both subs. thats not to say you couldn't put an amp that pushes 1000 watts rms to both subs, it all in the why you have the amp set, the box you have and the gain. i have a set of 15" cvr's dual 2 ohm hooked up to a 3000 watt class d amp. at 2 ohms it pushes around 1800 watts rms. thats 1300 watts more than i need for the subs but because i have a good box and have my amp settings right they have lasted. oh and they have lasted in the same setup for over 4 years.

kickers will normally sound better in a big enclosure and with big power going to them. I really only like the sound that kickers make in a dumpster but to each his own...
With the DVC and the 4 ohm you will be best finding an amp that has max power at from 1 - 4 ohms. more is better......

i'm not a big fan of kicker. we just had a set laying around and i put them into my car. the sounded decent, just never got around to changing them out. sould the car they where in. my put them into my stang till i get the funds for some re subs. the kicker L7's make good boat anchors though.
