Default Simple Question Regarding PAC Harness

Searched but couldn't find the answer to this question. I have a shaker 500, wondering if when using the PAC harness for an aftermarket HU will require the voltage regulator to avoid the "pop" at start up... I know the metra harness is cheaper but if the PAC harness takes care of the "pop" in the subs and is simple plug and play, that is preferable. Thanks.

I'm not sure but i just finished installing my avic on the weekend i used the reg and the metra harness. You could also use a 1.5k ohm resistor instead of the reg.
