Default Avic D3 and Shaker 500

Hey whats up guys. I was wondering if somebody could help me with the problem that I am facing with my newly installed avic d3 HU.

The sound quality from my shaker 500 subs are awful. I'm not sure what to do to fix this problem. All other forums about avic d3 installations are saying that there is too much bass from the HU. For me, I am not getting any.

I have played around with the eq but am not getting anywhere near the quality I had before with my stock shaker 500 HU. Please help me, I love music and the bass is a big deal. Thanks a lot guys.

I used Metra Part # 70-5521 which has the rca harness. I also used the voltage regulator to the harness. I am not hearing a popping noise but there is a lot of distortion when I increase the volume.
