Default installing a mach 460

hey guys, i have a basic stock sound system in my 2000 mustang v6. i found a killer deal on a full mach 460 setup, the only thing is, do i need a separate wiring harness? if so... how much money will it cost round about and will it take long to install? thanks very much

you will need a wiring harness that goes between the amps and deck, as well as the much harder to find harnesses that go from the kick panels to the doors. After that you will only need the door panels and tweeter pods that are also different.

You will be digging a bigger hole then it is worth to tell you the truth. The mach systems are not that great and are difficult to get all the pieces for it.

ok, like I said, get the door panels, tweeter pods as well as the wiring that runs to them from the kick panel(this harness is VERY hard to find). The main harness that goes from the deck to the amps comes out easier, I sold mine for $100 because they are also hard to find. The rear enclosure/amp rack is easy to find but hard to get in good condition since the speakers in it could be 15 yrs old.

Once you get ALL the pieces it is just plug-n-play, like I said it is just much harder to find everything. You will spend hours(literally) searching for this stuff and in the end you will have a ok-good factory radio designed in 1993.

I just did this on my sons 1998 GT, You can find all the parts and wiring on E-bay the harness can be purchased for around 60.00 to 80.00, The doors can be trimmed with a dremel. Takes about 3-4 hours, And TTOCs is right the sound is better but not great.
