Default 2005 Mustang GT VSS Wiring Question

Can someone please tell me, what color and where I can find the VSS wire for a Radio that has a Navagation system? Also looking for wire color for Back up lights also.

I have checked several sites and have some wire colors but when I goto the PCM area there are other wires that are close to the colors on different plugs.

THANKS A BUNCH

I went to a place called www.rostra.com. I bought this magnet kit that goes on the drive shaft and the pluse counter counts the rotation of the shaft. It cost me about 50.00 for the kit. IT WORKS GREAT

You can almost always get it behind the gauge cluster. You'll have to have a digital multimeter to test for it while the car is moving. You can also call Pioneer tech support and say that you have an AVIC-N2 and you need this info and they might know where to find it for your vehicle.

If you are looking at the PCM from the front of the car, remove the cap on the top plug. You want the blue wire with the yellow tracer. It is on the left side of the top plug in the third space from the bottom.
Technically it is no longer VSS because the PCM reads the OSS and makes up its own VSS inside of the PCM, so its electronic. You can read it with a scan tool and bring up the VSS pid. Tap in to this wire for your "VSS" signal for navigation systems. (thanks Casper )

As for the backup lights, just tap in to a +voltage wire to a backup light in the trunk.
