Default Memphis Car Audio

Finally replacing the shaker 500 system in my 05 convertible. Looking at a Pioneer nav head unit with Memphis m class speakers all around and two M class 12" subs with two Memphis Power reference amps.
I have not had heard of Memphis until I went to a local shop. They carry them as their high end. Basically I wanted to know if anyone has Memphis components and what you think of them. Sound quality, durability etc. All pros and cons appreciated. Thanks

I personally have never sold Memphis, but they are a good reliable brand. And if I hadn't gotten out of the retail business when I did, I probably would be selling them. I would put them in the same category as MTX or Rockford Fosgate. They are not super high end like JL Audio or Audison, but better than just about any Japanese amp. Try them out; I think you will really like them.

I'd take Phass any day of the week over the Memphis M Class amplifiers because I went through more M Class amplifiers than I cared to in 2007. I will say this though, Memphis Car Audio's customer service is top notch.

Terrible for sound quality... Probably just right for making a big noise in a convertible though.

Hey Bill,

I checked out your audio page and I like what did with the subs. Are those 8's or 10's? I'm thinking about doing the same thing in my 93 vert.

Thank you. They're JBL 8's.
