Playing MP3 CDs in a 2008???
Maybe I'm just dumb? But on my radio on my 2008 v6, it clearly says MP3 under the CD dock. Does that just mean it's mp3 player compatible? Or will it actually play an MP3 cd? I made an MP3 cd once, and it didn't work, but then again, I could have made it wrong. An MP3 cd would be great, because I HATE opening my center console to grab my iPod and search through songs...not safe.

Well if you use itunes to burn your CD, one thing I found out (not sure if yours will be the same but worth a shot) is when I burn it, it will ask what format. The very first option is simply "Audio CD". For whatever reason thats the only one that works. Anything other selection like "MP3" the cd player just says "Bad Disk".
I think the MP3 logo may refer to being able to plug in your ipod through the aux.

lol yeah, I realize that. The point was, it should play. As far as quality, I haven't noticed a difference in the audio cd and the mp3 cd personally.
Yeah, CD-RW uses different recording technology than CD-R and most audio players don't recognize it. RW's are better for data disks. Some cd players will though, but they usually say CD-RW compatible or something similar.
my 05 plays mp3 cds fine but only on cd-r not cd-rws

i know most oem cd players wont read an rw was just stating that as info for the op to make sure he isnt using them. with the oem skipper 500 setup i couldnt tell a difference from mp3 to a genuine audio cd but with aftermarket setup i can deff tell.
something else to keep in mind burning an audio cd vs an mp3 cd from an mp3 file will sound the same because the audio has already been compressed so even when burning into an audio cd its still the same sq as the file it came from
