I put 5.25" cdt components in the factory door locations. Used a 6x8 plate by metra that has a hole for a 5.25" mid and tweeter. EVerything fits behind the factory grill and no need to drill your door panel to mount a tweeter. It sounds a lot better. Still running factory HU so once I get rid of that(waiting to see what scoche does) and get a proper amp on them i'm sure it will be way better. I can post a few pics if you want.

I also have a 2011 GT with the Shaker 500 system, and want to improve the sound. Does anyone have any experience with the Alpine SPR 68 speakers (for the doors)? They are supposed to be outstanding, but I'd sure like to know they work in this system before buying them. Thanks. Jim
