Default Ipad installed!

Hey guys new to the forum as a poster, but long time reader. Recently bought a 2010 Ford Mustang so I decided to start modding it. Got the idea actually from another member on here to install an Ipad in my dash so I had to make it happen. Went with the 2010+ Metra dash kit and made a free floating mount to hook up the Ipad with. Plays music and videos through a Isimple cable and the door speakers are powered by a JL Audio XD 400/4 Amp. Feel Free to ask questions or critique! Enjoy guys

Not a fan of the top one, but I like the second one with the video. I don't care for the floating look of the top unit because it's kind of like a "Im too cheap to actually commit to installing this in my car" look. I really like the second unit though.

Couple of questions....could you do this mod with any old tablet? How does it work with steering wheel controls?

@Bronxbomba and WcgMan: Thanx!
@Brycspain: Yes, this mod can be done with any table -- provided it fits in the space. As you can see by the video, an iPad Mini does take up a lot of space in the horizontal layout. I even had to fabricate custom brackets to drop the radio about a 1/2 inch in order to fit the double din radio and the iPad. As for steering wheel cotrols, they all work. I can use volume up and down, pause with the 'OK' button, and skip tracks, all thanks to being able to retain Sync. Also the keep in mind, the iPad is hard wired to the USB port in the compartment behind the cup holders. So yeah, everything works.
Thanks again!
