Default how hard is it to get a sub and amp into a 2010?

hey i JUST got my 2010 last week, was wondering how hard is it to get a sub and amp into these?

im probably going to take it in to get it done properly by a professional, but do i need a new head unit to do so? or can i just hook it all up to the stock head unit?

can i control all the functions from the head unit?

any info would help alot. as im really not familiar with a 2010 at all so i dont know if its more trouble than its worth (aka alot of money to get done by a pro)

thanks!

Stock HU is fine.

Uhm, what? You'd need to show me any amp where you could control it's functions from a head-unit first...

Hooking in a sub for the trunk and an amp is about as easy as it'll get. Now, if you're looking to replace the head-unit, you'll be needing to buy a couple additional things, namely for a 2010, a replacement center face as it's not a standard double-din opening for the factory face.

My 12" type r wont fit in the trunk of my 96 with an off the shelf sub box, and it's actually not big enough for the sub. At least I have a use for the backseat now since it wasn't practical for anything other than transporting subs. I was planning on getting another 12 when the system was in my explorer....looks like Ill be going with 2 10's now.

Dont do it! It will rattle the brackets in the tail light. It even broke one of mine off because it rattles so much. I have put in two applications of hush mat and still it still sounds bad. But sounds really good inside. lol

I was looking at rear seat deletes. Maybe I'll build a box into it for 2 12's and have room in the trunk for a couple 30 packs of beer......I mean groceries.

With the trunk open, this could break the windshield of the car behind you. You need to mount one of those stickers that say stay back 100ft not responsible for broken winshields.

Nice set up, i myself have got two 10s and i just bought some box off ebay that says it should fit in the trunk like a glove for two tens. Hopefully its good if not ill return it. Installing isnt that hard. For most people the most overwhelming part was just getting everything together and making sure it worked, crutchfield has the chat reps who can build you a whole cart with everything your going to need for the install. Its pretty cool. They even include wire taps so you wont have to cut any wires to tap into em when your doing your high to low conversion.

Get one of those thunderform boxes and hook it to the stock head unit.... It just a couple wires to hook up and the box barely takes up any room
