Remote Start question - need to insert key?
I have a dumb question about remote start (OEM or aftermarket).
If you start the car remotely and get in, do you still have to insert the key in the ignition to drive off? If not, how do you shut the car off?
Are there any reputable alarm systems with remote start and push stop button to turn off the car after driving?

as he said you will need a key. The system is wired to the brake pedal so if you do not put the key in and touch the brake the system will kill the motor. This is for your protection so your car will not be as easy to steal.
I sold systems for a couple of years and installed them for a decade. I can remember explaining how the system would operate to an older lady. When I finished she looked at me almost like I was pulling a fast one on her and then asked,"So if you have my keys, you can then steal my car with this system on it?". Stunned, not sure if she was serious and trying not to laugh/point/run back to tell the others I realized she was serious.
"Yes mam that is correct..... How ever even with out the system on your car, if I have your keys I can steal it.." - She agreed.
They also make them so they are safe to put on sticks now. I have one on my truck and my mustang, works great.
