Default My 2011 GT speaker upgrade

There have been a lot of posts on speaker and stereo upgrades for the 2011 and up GT with the NAV/Shaker 500. I believe that I have the best alternative without changing the Navagation/stereo unit. I am adding a step by step instruction with photo links. I had to post links because I could not figure out how to upload a photo directly. I would not suggest having a car audio place doing your speakers. I paid a pro and took there advice on how they should upgrade it. They did a good job of the install, and they used good speakers, but overall screwed me and it didnt sound that good. Once complete he said thas the best it could sound with the factory radio. I am telling you now that is BS. I am a little over half way done and It sounds 10x better than his install, and sounds 100x better that the Shaker 500.

This is what im installing. 1)Front speakers: Polk Audio MM5251 5.25-Inch System Component System 2)Back speakers: Jl Audio Tr570(this is the only thing i kept from the pro install) 3)2 PIONEER TS-SW841D 8" SHALLOW-MOUNT SUBWOOFERS 4)Rockford Fosgate P1000X5D 1000 Watt Class D 5 Channel Amplifier 5)This I may or may not get. JBL MS-8 MS Series Digital Processor. This is the answer for those that want full control of there stereo. This is also the answer for those who want to keep their NAV/stereo system but want pro sound.

This is the Metra CK-5600 5 1/4 conversion kit you will need to install a 5 1/4 componet speaker set in your front doors.

You will have to make a few modifiactions to make this work. You will have to cut a hole in the plastic for the tweeter. A box cutter will worhk fine. I used 1 of the Tweeter holders(there are 2) to trace the circle on the Metra bracket. I will post the links in order. if you have any questions please ask.

You're kind of my hero right now. How about the subwoofers?

Are you having to use any wiring harness adapters?

Speakers to speaker wires. How do the aftermarket speakers connect?
