Unhappy Mach 460 Head Unit compatibility

Hey all,

Just got a nice 2002 Mustang Convertible V6 Premium. Having issues with the stereo though.

The head unit is -not- from the 460 based stang but it is a stock ford radio. Tape and CD combo stack.

Before I tare into the wiring, replace amps and the like (I like factory, gets stolen less often) Will this head unit be a problem?

I notice there are "460" head units so I am concerned that other ford head units may not have the proper pinout/plug ins for a mach based sound system..

Can anybody shed some light on this?

BTW if anyone has a spare of working amps for the woofers they might part with, cant spend much, but it would be appreciated. (even if amps good now, might not be later)

I am in Southern California BTW

I guess I should clarify..

will a non "Mach" factory head unit work with a Mach 460 stock system?
