Default HD radio for a 2011

How can i get HD radio in my 2011 mustang gt? It has ford sync , this is what it looks like.. (except mines manual)

It has satellite radio but i want HD radio without HD radio messing up anything. I also want to be able to continue using my IPOD though the headunit then switch to HD radio without having to unplug anything. Is this possible? What part would i need?

Its extra free radio stations that are better than the normal stations, with less commercials and better music no monthly fee.

In the tampa bay area Trippin 102.5 was amazing playing classic psycadelic rock

Also 93.3 HD2 played techno and other type of music you dont normally hear on the normal radio stations, with much less commercials.

I had hd radio on my 2003 with an aftermarket HD radio tuner built in to the head unit

Less commercials is good. Between Sirius, Pandora streaming from the phone and the mp3 player, I've gotten to where I can't tolerate the horrible programming and endless commercials on regular FM. I don't know if the BFE radio stations around here even offer HD but it would be worth looking into.

Just purchased a 2013 Mustang V6 stock ford radio and have the exact same question. Had HD radio add on in previous vehicle and thought it was great. Want to keep the stock Ford radio but add on HD unit. Anyone gone down this route yet and know if it's even possible and/or parts needed?
thanks, Jon

from my understanding of HD, you will need either a separate radio and hook it up through an aux input or get an aftermarket radio. The stock radio doesn't have the capability of decoding the hd signal.
Hope that helps

Yes that helps. I did some more research online and it looks like there is a product called iSimple that allows you to add HD radio to the Ford factory stereo. I will be getting this and adding to the factory system. thanks!

You need these two modules to get HD radio.
