Careful with some local municipal ordinances, they may ticket you. On some military posts arrests were common place.

If I can't see out my mirrors because they are vibrating to much, I turn it down a notch.

As always, if the rapper is going to drop an F-bomb that's when a Chips is stopped right next to you at a light.

Our law here states if they can hear your stereo more the 50 feet away(which a stock system will do), your getting a ticket and its not cheap.

with that being said, i have 4 12" Phoenix Gold subs with over 4000 watts going to them and enough mids and highs to match. I dont blast it in neighborhoods or at stop lights. Its mainly when im by myself or using to sell product. But its never enough!!!

That Shaker 500 is a lot louder on the inside than out and you're not going to disturb anyone. I've got 1600 watts for 4 subs and 8 speakers. It's f-ing loud. But if you're approaching an intersection, be respectful and turn it down so you're not disturbing fellow drivers.

As for the crow bar, I don't carry one. However I keep the 9 **** and locked for those loud *** harley's. I hate loud bikes.

I agree with what everyone else has said... you can't have too much bass unless you think it is too much, or you can't afford it... You don't want to be a douche in your car, so don't blow old ladies off the crosswalk with your system... and the Shaker 500 blows, because it doesnt blow(haha get it? ) I had an 06 with it, and I upgraded it very quickly to a JL W3 12" in a custom box.

No such thing as too much bass. Around where I live there are no ordinances about music being too loud in your car.

You might have too much bass if it hits so hard, it makes your heart stop beating... permanently. Anything less than that is NEVER enough... not for long anyway.

Obviously just kidding. But seriously, I used to run an electronics shop and I tuned several SPL setups. I think the highest dB reading of anything I built was 159dB which is not earth shattering, but after you get used to that everything else is sub par. I haven't had any real subs for 2 or 3 years now and I really miss it.

Well, I'm 18, still in high school, and when i drive to and from work, there is always kids on the sidewalk, and i roll my windows down, and it still turns heads, from 20-40 feet. So it is actually somewhat pretty loud.

It's not that loud, had louder in my £250 ****heap Vauxhall Nova with about £800 worth of Alpine head unit, components and a Vibe active sub. That's when I was 17 and those little amounts of money were much more significant.

You actually have a decent car at 18 though, the 500 isn't particularly great a system and even a pair of speakers and new headunit would go a long way. The weak link is still the amp and 8" door subs though. One 12" sub and amp is much more powerful. Tune everything right and the bass won't be overpowering.
