96 gt convertible subs?
I am racking my brain on how to install or where to put a pair of 8in alpine type r subs in this car. I don't want to put them in the trunk because with the top down you loose so much base. I was thinking about removing some of the foam and building a box under the rear seats then porting them out the panels. Has anyone done this? What would you guys recommend for installing the 8" subs in the convertible? I'm not out for spl I want good sound quality but in this car I just cant find a place to put the subs. I installed focal components in the front and rear with a memphis amp running them. Sounds good so far but need more low end. I have the 8" alpines and a 1000w memphis amp to run them. Some pictures of others installs would be GREAT thanks.

I was thinking about that also. I gotta do some measuring tomorrow to see if they will fit. I remember seeing a picture of one with the 8" subs in the side panels. I got it all tore apart right now I am putting a new top on it. So now is a good time to install them.

Assuming little change between the 96 and 97, I can tell you there's no place at least under the drivers seat if you have a power seat. Theres a little more room under the passenger, but even that is super tight. You're probably looking at having to build a rear seat delete. There's no room under the foam backseat and where the mechanicals for the top go down into the sides, it gets pretty tight in there. That might be your only option. BTW - nice call on the Focals. They make great products.
