Smile iPad with Sync, Navigation alternative

Hey guys,

I have a question about the iPad intergration with Sync. I'm going to buy a used 2013-2014 Mustang soon, I really wanted one with Navigation, but most of the ones I see for sale don't have one.

I found this iPad Mini Mount you can place over the stereo and I think this would be a great alternative to the Navigation screen that comes with the electronics package.

I could tether my iPhone to give wifi to the iPad and use Maps for Navigation and have the voice stream over Sync to my car's speakers, correct? Also, when the iPad is playing music, could I control playback (play, pause, skip, volume) using the steering wheel controls?

Sorry if I sound like a "noob".

Many thanks

What you described would probably work. Another option is the Raxiom aftermarket navigation system that American Muscle sells. It costs like $699 (much less than the Ford Nav) and works well.
