Default What is the Best Remote Starter?

I really want to get remote start on my car, does anyone suggest any options over others? And why? Thanks!

I purchased the OEM extended range (bi-directional) one and installed it myself. It has a range of a little over 1000 feet. I got mine from Tasca Ford. I love it especially when it's cold outside. It's nice to get into a warm car and drive off while everyone else is having to sit in the parking lot waiting for the defrost to melt the ice from their windshield.

Nice choice in choosing Ruby Red.

I got a viper alarm and remote start system, claimed a mile of range but I never tested it's distance. I never had any issues with it, and the 2 way function was great because I could tell when my car was running or not.

Sweet, I was looking into both of y'alls options, I just am worried about the viper alarm having issues later down the road like the alarm going off randomly. I would love to use the alarm app from the phone though.

South of Houston. I need to get updated pics since I've installed 3D Carbon window louvers.

I had the alarm on 2 different vehicles and I never had any issues with it going off unless I accidentally sat on the button.... happened more than I would like to admit. The good thing is the start button was harder to get to... the design may have changed to alleviate this problem though... haven't looked into them lately since I have a manual now.

the first was a 2005 F-150, then I had it professionally re-installed on a 2013 GT and the only complaint was that it only came with 1 2-way remote and both my ex and I wanted one.

As to which alarm you get I would go based on what you want out of it. If you want the long range I think there are only 1-2 options and those are the higher end alarms. if all you want is the remote start then you can probably get away with the inexpensive versions and while they don't have the range, you should be able to start the car if it is a few hundred yards away... maybe less lol, haven't tested any

Glad I could help!

I have the OE...extended range in our F150, it's terrific. It has enough range to start from most places and blinks green when it starts. I got 4 fobs, so we have one for everone.

I work shift work and it's nice to be able to start it on those cold mornings and get confirmation. Ruby usually stays in the garage, so it's not needed at home. I programed mine to not shut off when the door is opened.

I installed a 1500' range two way CompuStar remote start in my 2007 F150 and love it. It has the LCD screen that tells you the inside temp of the truck.

All I want is the cheapest option for remote start 1 way. I dont need 2 way. And like DJ, I would also have to have it not turn off when door is opened.
