I am thinking about upgrading the HU finally. I can't say its been high on my mod list (or really even on it at all till recently). I already upgraded to the Shelby Kicker system minus the updated trunk sub (door speakers as well as the speakers in rear along with the 4.1 shelby amp) in my 2006 GT years ago. To avoid any debate...I am NOT changing out any of the rest of the system. Yes, I realize I could spend the money and upgrade the entire system. The thing is....I'm happy with it already based on the changes I've made to this point. I'd just like to have the unit integrate with my cell phone and ipod seamlessly and also have the rear camera that at least matches if not exceeds the current sound quality.

So, what I am asking is if anyone has any suggestions to what I can put in my 2006 that is pretty seamless for use with my iphone/ipod, has bluetooth, and has ability to have rearview camera added at time of install or at some point after if I desire.

I've just been out of the audio loop for so long that I just have no idea what might be the best way to go. Not an unlimited budget, but I definitely want a unit that makes this worthwhile as I have no intentions of ever doing again.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

if your iPhone runs iOS 8 and supports CarPlay, you might go with one of the Pioneer NEX units. I have an AVH-4100NEX in my Ranger, and while the aftermarket companies wouldn't know good user interface design if it bit them on their spleens, CarPlay is pretty useful.
