Default 2015+ Head Unit Installation Kit

So I just did a small stereo upgrade to my 2016 and I found out that there is no head unit installation kit for our cars, we are stuck with the factory radio for now. It seems the radio is not just a radio anymore and there are other car functions attached to it, even with the basic radios. I am making this post in order to keep all of us interested in the install kit up to date so we can get it as soon as the it becomes available.

In the meantime...

BTW, while I was researching the installation kits I ran into this one:

https://store.audiodesignscg.com/pro...us-7-dash-kit/

While it isn't my cup of tea, it may be interesting to others. I want to be able to run optical to my processor and the way this works makes it as problematic as having a custom kit built.

OK, one more. Here is an image Alpine posted on their instagram account. The link points to their account but there is a picture of a kit that was built by a third party for the 2015+ mustang running the 8" nav head unit. I called them and they can custom build it for me but the cost was about 4k, including the head unit. This was too rich for me so I think I am just going to wait for something more affordable.

Here is the link:

But it sure looks sweet.

Metra or Scosche will probably have one soon. The ones they have for other modern Ford vehicles have the climate controls built in, so it takes them longer to develop.

You can upgrade to the factory MyFord touch system also.. or to Sync 3. I know it isn't aftermarket.. but Sync 3 will be enabling Car Play and Google auto soon.

I'm still waiting too. I keep checking crutchfield every once and a while lol. A custom fabrication is quite expensive. A kit would be nice. I didn't get a premium trim for a reason.

I actually went from stock to the same tomtom unit and upgraded again about 4 months ago to this "Tesla" version. LOVE IT!
