Default My Bullitt is in a coma

Last week it had been raining for a while and I went through a puddle that was maybe 3 or for inches deep and my motor locked up. After getting it back to my house, I noticed that whoever the idiot is that installed my CAI, routed it to where the air filter is sitting about level with the bottom of the front bumper, hence I sucked up water through my intake and ceased the motor up. Luckily insurance is paying for me to get a remanufactured Jasper crate motor dropped in, it should be done tomorrow.

I know I should have known where my CAI was routed but it never dawned on me to look. You live and you learn.

Two Mustang owners I know of have done this as well.. They were both running a 'RAM Air' cold air kit. The kit runs, as you stated, below the front bumper. Doesn't take much water at all to Hydro your engine

The last engine I saw Hydro'd was a Pontiac, some young lady floored it through a puddle and wondered why she couldn't start her car shortly after. This would be the only time I've ever seen Crescent shaped Connecting Rods

wow that really sucks. Glad you are getting it handled though. We have huge problems with crater puddles here in FL. Always on the lookout when its raining. I have PuddleDar now.

hmmm, there are two sad things,

insurance could go up,

and the value of the car is going to be hurt. personally i would never buy a new mustang with a replaced engine. even tho sometimes it just means life happens like in this situation,

but most of the time it means somebody abused their car and had to get a new motor. problem is you dont know the truth 99% of the time.

atleast your getting a new motor man.
