It would be easier to just swap a 4v.
It's easy to find mach one/03 cobra heads for $6-800 and an intake for around $300.
3v and 4v engines have similar intake flow, but that extra valve sure helps exhaust flow.

4v or bust.
no sense messing with all that cam phaser BS with the VVT of the 3v. you'd have to get a special lockout, plus all the other ECU controlled nonsense...
plus the 4v just has a much more badass sound to it when hooked up with a decent exhaust.
hell, you could even do a mark VIII 4v swap.
