WAT? How does that make sense, more mileage from being driven all year equals holding value?.. There are plenty of other states that have year round great weather where the prices are cheaper. .. And snowfall has nothing to do with rust, that's mostly humidity

Actually rust is primarily due to the salt we dump on the roads here.

And ocean side states would have a similar issue with ocean spray (water not the juice)

I will say that I spent the last few days looking for a used GT under 60K miles, and under my 16K price limit and there are none within 100 miles of me. It was said before that Cali is a higher state for Mustangs (or fast cars in general) and I believe that. The closest I came to on my search was a black (plain) GT with cloth seats with 61K miles for 16.9k.

Lets take away the "Bullitt" factor. Would you pay price for a premium GT (all leather, CAI, 18'' rims, shaker 1000 sound)?

Thanks for the comments so far and keep them coming!

Matthew

S197 only? Or New Edge as well?

I love the 03/04 Cobras & Bullits

Depends on the mileage, but I've seen S197 GTs sell from 12-18k. Cheapest S197 bullitt was around $26k.

With your description and the dings and paint issues, you made a good decision walking away. I'd walk just because the guys a "dick" and wouldn't haggle with you. Sounds like the car was mistreated, kudos to you for holding out, there isn't a shortage of Mustangs here in California. GL

Well just a quick update - I walked away from the Bullitt and picked up a '11 V6 Premium for $18.2. Glad I didnt get the Bullitt now.
