Default Willow Springs Raceway Drag racing on the 10th

Willow Springs International Raceway will be opening again for drag racing.

DRAG RACING IS BACK!

Friday - June 10
Saturday July 2 - Time TBD due to the 2nd Annual Liberty Grand Prix Event
Saturday - July 16
Saturday - August 6
Saturday - September 10
Saturday - October 8
The actions starts at 7pm and ends at 11pm for all dates unless otherwise noted.

Instead of 1320ft it is 1000ft, but it is timed and you do get a time slip at the end of each run. They use the front straight of the big track to race and have it planned out rather well. Last year it was really fun but towards the end it started to slow down. So i'm hoping we can get some guys from here to come out and race.

Forgot to add some information that will be needed if anyone will be racing. You'll need a helmet that is DOT approved. Alot of people use motorcycle helmets or dirt bike helmets as they are the cheaper of the two. You will also need a valid driver license, insurance and registration.

Few changes this year. They did not ask for insurance nor registration. It was not "run what you brung" as there were trailered cars there. It was still very fun. I ran a best of 10.2. They also attempted a bracket racing near the end which more or less ruined the goal of it being the street racers out there seeing who's fastest. About 50 cars showed up to race and the stands were almost filled. There were alot of fox bodies and a few other mustangs. The next drag racing event will be on July 2nd.

i couldn't make it last night, broke from parts spending. But i'm planning on going on the 2nd of July. It'd be nice to meet some fellow MF'ers

Do they give you an 1/8th mi breakdown at least?

Sadly no they do not give an 1/8th ET. The computer is set up to read 60 ft, but they didn't have the sensor set up. They have reaction time, elapsed time and vehicle speed. I'll try to post up one of my time slips in a bit.

I'm also happy to report that it was up in the air but they are allowing Nitrous. So if you went last year, but couldn't run due to having nitrous you will be allowed to run this year.

I know that's a bad reaction time, but I was going for ET on that run.
